The Forest Grove/Cornelius
Corridor follows along Highway 8 (Tualatin Valley Highway)
from the eastern boundary of Cornelius through the western
boundary of Forest Grove. The Corridor offers small town living
at the edge of the Portland metropolitan area, and is an easy
drive through farm land from Highway 26 and the Sunset High
Tech Corridor.
It is an agricultural community surrounded by nurseries, wineries,
and busy farms. Forest Grove is the center of the Washington
County wine industry, and many fine wineries are within a
few miles of town including Elk Cove Winery, maker of a Pinot
Gris wine rated top in the world by Wine Spectator. Forest Grove area wineries share the
Oregon international reputation for premier wines. Oregon
pinot noirs are the most requested pinot noirs in restaurants
across the country.
The Corridor
also is a busy economic center with campus industrial settings
and a diverse manufacturing community. More than 2,000 manufacturing
jobs drive the Forest Grove economy. The Corridor is also
the home to Pacific University, consistently recognized as
one of America's best colleges by U.S.News and World Report.
The Forest
Grove/Cornelius Corridor offers more than 90 acres of vacant,
available industrial property, most with rail service. The
community has a supply of built industrial incubator space
for small and medium sized companies. The historic town center
offers a good supply of commercial and office space, much
of it in restored, historic buildings.
